PADI Divers carry the most respected and sought after scuba credentials in the world. No matter where you choose to dive, your PADI certification card will be recognized and accepted. PADI is recognized as the world's largest and most respected diver training organization in the world. Your underwater adventures begin in your entry-level course and grow as you explore new dive sites, use new equipment and try different types of diving, like night or wreck diving.

What do I need to Start?

Most anyone is eligible to start diving. As long as you are in reasonably good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water you can earn a PADI open-water certification. For the kids 10-14 we offer the Junior Open Water Diver program.

* A PADI Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10-11 may only dive with a certified dive Professional or a parent/ guardian to maximum of 12 metres/ 40ft.

Academics

You will be required to complete most of the academics on your own time. There is also a DVD video that you will be required to watch and a book with homework that you will required to complete before hitting the water. After all homework is completed, you will then meet with your Instructor, turn in all homework, book and video and have any information explained to you that you do not understand. Next, you will be issued four ten-question quizzes and one fifty-question final exam.

Confined Water Dives

During the confined water session (pool dives) you will be required to master the 13 skills necassary to obtain a PADI Open Water Certification.

Non Confined Water Dives

You will be required to participate in four ocean dives, usually completed in two days. You will be re-tested on the skills you learned in the pool and you have the option of choosing a boat dive or shore dive. Shore dives are included in the course price.

What is Home-Study?

By studying the Book and video/ DVD you can go at a pace that is comfortable for you. You will meet with your Instructor after you have completed the in-home study requirements. PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the required skills.
